Overview
Seldon Capital is a San Francisco-based hedge fund advancing the craft of investing through deep fundamental research and machine learning. Our portfolio spans long and short positions across equities, fixed income, currencies, and commodities. Role Summary
We are seeking a Trader to lead execution across global markets—including equities, rates, FX, commodities, and credit—while contributing to research and strategy development.
Responsibilities
Identify market dislocations and inflection points across asset classes
Develop features from novel data sources to support predictive models
Apply statistical and machine learning methods to guide trading decisions
Monitor and synthesize fundamental developments at the macro and company level
Execute orders with precision and efficiency
Manage broker relationships and optimize commission allocation
Contribute to portfolio construction and position sizing
Enhance trade execution and signal generation through automation and robust controls
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline from a top-tier university
Strong grasp of macroeconomics and cross-asset market dynamics
Excellent analytical judgment and risk awareness
Effective communicator and collaborative team member
Proficient with Bloomberg, FactSet, and related trading tools
Python proficiency or interest in automation a strong plus
Demonstrated ability to build and refine trading processes and systems
